  • "Lāči" stars production of "BIO" bread series - "BIO fine rye bread", "BIO rye bread" and "BIO wheat bread". Only biologically grown ingredients are used for production of these types of bread.
  • "Lāči" opens a new store at the shopping mall "RIMI" in Zolitūde, at Imantas 15. līnija 7.

  • "Lāči" expands the series of "Real" by adding "Real wheat fine rye bread".
  • The assortment of muffins is expanded by adding the new series "Mama Bear's favourite muffins"
  • The series of chocolate candies is expanded by adding the unique selection of chocolate candies with rye bread crusts and balsam and the selection of dark chocolate candies.
  • "Lāči" starts offering "Cranberry bread" to its clients.
  • The favourite series of triangle cookies is supplemented by "Rich seeds" and "Pumpkin seeds" cookies.

  • Bakery "Lāči" celebrates the 20th anniversary and marks it with starting production of an exclusive series of candies. Candies are handcrafted by using high quality ingredients.
  • "Lāči" starts cooperation with Margarita Stāraste, an artist, and Kārlis Foundation in developing a new series of cookies for children "Knīpucis" /A Little One/ not containing any improvers and colourings.
  • A new store "Lāči" is opened at the shopping mall "A7" in Ķekava parish.
  • "Lāči" offers "Real" bread sorts with various additions - "Real rye bread with garlic" and "Real rye bread with seeds", "Real fine rye bread with seeds" and "Carrot bread with seeds".

  • At the international trade fair "Riga Food 2012" in the bread quality contest the following prizes are awarded to "Lāči" - the Golden diploma for outstanding quality to "Grain bread", the Silver diploma to "ECO rye bread", the Bronze diploma to "Bread for city residents".
  • At the Milk, Bread and Honey Festival in Jelgava city the "Light fruit bread" is recognised as the tastiest bread in Latvia.
  • Normunds Skauģis is awarded the the prize "Company Manager with the Best Reputation" in Company Reputation Top created by the newspaper "Diena" and Nord Porter Novelli for the second consecutive year.
  • "Lāči" expands the assortment of wheat bread by offering bread with seeds "Vesels ēdis".
  • "Lāči" is recognised as the most unique brand in Latvia in the top of the most loved brands in Latvia.
year 2011
  • "Lāči" opens a great production facility and starts offering cakes also at supermarkets.
  • For celebrating the 18th anniversary of the company the biggest loaf of rye bread in Latvia is baked weighing 73.1 kg.
  • At the international trade fair "Riga Food 2011", in the bread quality contest the "Real rye bread" is awarded the Golden Diploma for a high quality. "Real white bread" and "Light fruit bread" are awarded Silver Diplomas for a high quality.
  • Normunds Skauģis is awarded the prize "Best Company Manager" in Company Reputation Top created by the newspaper "Diena" and Nord Porter Novelli.

  • "Lāči" is awarded the prize "Greenest company in Latvia" in Company Reputation Top created by the newspaper "Diena" and Nord Porter Novelli.
  • A new product "Real white bread" for the production of which real milk and butter is used is added to the series of bread "Real".
  • "Lāči" opens a new production line of cookies.
  • A new series of "Lāči" cookies packed in jars is created; meringue cookies with almonds and chocolate become clients' favourites.
  • The retail chain "Lāči" is expanded by opening the first store "Lāči" in Jelgava at Pasta street and a new store in Riga centre at "Milda's Market".

  • Normunds Skauģis, the owner and bakery chef of  bakery "Lāči", has learned the trade of baking real Latvian rye bread from his mother. Starting from age of 16 Normunds Skauģis has been baking bread at his father's home "Lāči" and selling it at "Vidzeme Market Place".

  • Based on information gathered by DDB Consulting, Lāči was named the second most influential brand in Latvia in regards to influencing public opinion.
  • Lāči began baking three kinds of ECO bread - "ECO Rye Bread", "ECO Fine Rye Bread" and "ECO White Bread" which have been carefully developed by taking into account all biological farming methods and which are baked using ecologically clean raw materials.
  • In the international exhibition "Riga Food 2009", "Real Fine Rye Bread" and "Light Rye Bread" received a Golden Diploma in the bread quality competition for its high quality.

  • In the survey "Favourite Brands in Latvia", ‘’Lāči’’ received the award "Most Unique Brand in Latvia".

  • "Real Fine Rye Bread" earned 1st place and "Wheat Fine Rye Bread" earned 2nd place in the "Best Fine Rye Bread of Zemgale" competition at the Jelgava Festival of Milk, Bread and Honey.
  • ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery owner and master baker Normunds Skauģis was awarded the honourable title of "Most Patriotic Businessman in Latvia".
  • ‘’Lāči’’ opened a new bakery with a recreational facility in the Cinevilla Backlot.

  • ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery made over 5 tonnes of bread daily.

  •  200 employees worked in the ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery.
    - 2 master bakers and 4 bakers (journeymen) upheld and cultivated ancient baking traditions in the ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery.

  •  In the poll organised by the Latvian Merchant Association, "Real Rye Bread" was acknowledged to be the "Best Commodity of 2004".
    - In the consumer poll organised by the Marketing Council, "Real Rye Bread" was recognizedacknowledged to be the "People's Favourite Zaļā karotīte (Green Spoon) Product"zala karotite (green spoon).

    - ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery owner and master baker Normunds Skauģis received the "Capital Businessman" award.

  • "Real Rye Bread" and "Real Fine Rye Bread" received the Zaļā karotīte (Green Spoon), as 85 - 95 % of the ingredients used are produced in Latvia.

  • ‘’Lāči’’ put a twist in traditional values by adding dried fruits and nuts to introduce a new kind of "Real Rye Bread" and "Real Fine Rye Bread".

  •  Normunds Skauģis founded the ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery. The name ‘’Lāči’’ (means bears) was chosen in honour of the name of Skauģis' father's home.
  • The Skauģi family regained their grandfather's birth home, "Benūžu-Skauģi", where they began baking ‘’Lāči’’ bread.
  • ‘’Lāči’’ Bakery owner and master baker Normunds Skauģis learned the skill of baking real Latvian rye bread from his mother . At the age of 16, Skauģis baked bread at his father's home, "Lāči", and sold it at the Vidzeme Market.
